Do You Really Need A Trained Pet Monkey To Work Your Computer? Part 1

There are only 3 reasons why you are on this page.

  • You were searching for “Amazing Curry Recipes” on Google
  • You’re looking for a “Mini HTPC Keyboard and Mouse”
  • Or you want a $20 www.SmartHome.com.au gift voucher

Well if you got to this page hoping to find “Amazing Curry Recipes” sorry, can’t help you. But, if you came here looking for the Mini HTPC Keyboard and Mouse, or $20 SmartHome gift voucher, you’re in the right place.

Now as of a few weeks ago, I had a computer hooked up to my 66 inch TV full-time – so I could plop down and get comfortable on the living room sofa to surf the net and watch streaming movies. Sounds great right? And it was… until I realized that I couldn’t reach the keyboard from the sofa! Now there were two possible solutions to this dilemma;

  1. Get a monkey and train it to work a computer or;
  2. Buy a new Mini HTPC Keyboard and Mouse with the $20 SmartHome gift voucher I got (will tell you how to get one shortly).

So I sat two feet away from my 66 inch TV and searched Google for a wireless keyboard and mouse (or keyboard/mouse combo) that:

-          Had decent range (20-30 feet, ideally)

-          Didn’t take up too much space

-          Was compact with small keys and no numeric keypad

-          Had a reliable, two or three button optical mouse that could tolerate occasional attacks by our cats and toddler, possibly even a spilled drink

Sounds like a lot to ask right – turns out it wasn’t! I could get it all right here. And they even let me use my $20 gift voucher, which you can get for yourself right here.

Stay tuned for part 2..

    [...] The day started off like a page from a Christmas story.  All’s well in home and hearth, I was reclining on my rather large posterior, watching a blockbuster movie on my 66 inch flat screen, playing from my old laptop.  My pet monkey mowing the lawn, my email inbox filling up with ‘Amazing Curry Recipes’ sent from the fans of my last blog post and online strangers begging me not to try to make that  ‘Amazing Monkey Curry Recipe ’.  (If this makes no sense you need to see part 1 (link to part 1) [...]

    If you do not want to move your PC to your TV you can use a wireless video sender and your movie will be sent from your PC to your TV wirelessly.
