EASY INSTALL
Because our security systems are wireless they're also simple to install making our systems the perfect DIY alarm.

To make things even easier the basic alarm system comes with only two wires: the electricity and phone cables on the security console - and the phone cable is optional! That's why you can get this alarm system set up in under 30 minutes. A lot of the accessories are also extremely light, meaning many, including the motion sensors, don't even have to be screwed to the wall and can be fitted with double sided tape.

SECURE
Most people never consider whether or not their security system is secure, it seems like a silly idea. But a lot of wireless security systems aren't actually secure; ours are different. Our three wireless security systems incorporate a mixture of back-up batteries, tamper detection to trip the alarm should someone attempt to disable it, and SWT (Secure Wireless Technology™) for added security and peace of mind.

SWT means that every component has a unique code that is, literally, one in a million. That unique, encrypted code means that even we couldn't break into your system.

PET FRIENDLY SENSORS
If you have a pet, be it a dog or even a bird, who spends their days indoors then you don't want to purchase an alarm system that they'll constantly set off. After all, you want to know when people, not pets, are in your house. That's why our three security kits work with pet friendly motion sensors that can differentiate between humans and animals under a certain height level. While the pet friendly sensors don't ship with the system, you can upgrade from standard sensors to pet friendly sensors during the purchasing process.

BACK UP BATTERIES
If you're unlucky enough to be robbed the first thing you might notice is that your electricity box is open. Not because your electricity metre has been read, but because a thief will turn off your power before they break in - they want to disable your house alarm. But with SmartHome.com.au's alarm sensors they'll fail. That's because everything has a battery back up or is battery powered. So even with your power off, the main console, outdoor siren and strobe light, and all your door, window and motion sensors will continue to operate, sending the thief running with or without power.

EXPANDABLE SYSTEM
What's the point in buying an alarm system that can't change as your lifestyle does? That's why our home security systems are built upon expandable, wireless technology. Do you want to add a motion sensor to another room? Buy one, insert the batteries, and away you go (or away thieves do). Perhaps you want to add a perimeter sensor, such as the window sensor, so you can leave your alarm on at night and prevent people from breaking in while you're asleep? Again easy. And there are a number of add-ons available (see below) that don't come with the three starter kits but that can be added at any time with ease. Expandable technology, coupled with our wireless platform, and easy-to-use installation means that our security kits will be with you for life.

WIRELESS
We sat down and designed our wireless security kit after the experience of purchasing a wired one. Laying cable out across your house is not fun, nor easy. And having putting holes in so many walls is less than desirable. But wireless is simple. Insert batteries into the various modules, plug the security console into the wall, sync them with each other and away you go. It's what makes our security systems so easy to install, expandable, and appealing. We believe that security shouldn't be a luxury, that's why we've made three security systems which are as simple as possible.

Moreoever, wireless doesn't mean limiting nor insecure. With some accessories having a wireless range up to 250 metres, the option of a repeater, and secure wireless technology (see above) our security systems are ease and reliability fused.

GSM / SIM CONNECTION
In an era of mobile phones and internet connections our telephone lines get busy. Or we don't even have one at all. And that's a problem we wanted to solve with our new security systems. So we turned to mobile technology, giving the advanced security panel a dedicated GSM SIM card slot. Inserted a working SIM card will allow you to use the alarm panel to notify you via text or phone of any emergencies, or to dial or text the system and control it from afar. And for added security, you can even use the mobile feature as a backup, should your normal phone line fail you.

To make things really simple, we've included a new Vodafone SIM card in each of the security kits. Top it up if you want to use the GSM feature, or simply put it aside if you don't. We picked Vodafone's pre-paid service because it's cost effective and the credit you put on the SIM card lasts a whole year. However, you're free to use a SIM card from any mobile phone provider.

SELF-MONITORED
Basic alarm systems are close to useless: your external siren goes off and... nothing. No neighbour comes running, the thief only does the running as he makes off with your computer and lovely plasma TV, and if you've paid for back-to-base monitoring it'll take them a good half hour to turn up (if at all!) That's why we've included self-monitoring with all our alarm systems. You can arrange for your alarm to ring or SMS up to six people of your choosing with a pre-recorded message notifying them that the alarm has been activated. With the microphone built into the security console you can then listen in to what is happening in your house. Has someone in your house hit the panic button because they've injured themselves? Is there someone breaking in? Our security systems will let you know so you can make the appropriate decisions of what to do next. And that might just be dialling 000.

CONTROL FROM ANYWHERE
Sometimes you forget to arm your alarm. Sometimes you can't simply remember if you have or haven't. Other times you might need to disable it to let in a tradesman or a relative. The trouble is, you're not at home when any of these things happen. That's why SmartHome.com.au's security systems can be remotely controlled. And not just by the remote on your keyring, but simply by phoning or sending it an SMS from anywhere in the world. By using a unique secure code and sending the associated arm or disarm command, you'll have complete control of your alarm system 24/7.

BACK TO BASE
For those who wanted the added service of Back To Base security system monitoring, SmartHome.com.au's wireless security system can do it. Capable of communicating with many back to base monitoring networks, the main panel can relay information to them in two commonly used standards:

1. Ademco 'Contact ID' protocol used by the likes of Honeywell
2. Fronti

If choosing one of our alarm system packages to work with an existing back to base service, we recommend contacting your provider to ensure their network works with either the Contact ID or Fronti languages.

LONG BATTERY LIFE
Running power cables to alarm system is not only difficult, it damages your walls and ceilings, and requires a professional to do it. But batteries can, potentially, raise concerns over whether they've gone flat thus disabling the alarm sensor. Not so with our security systems and their accessories. Every accessory in the systems comes with a long life, replaceable battery. And while all the batteries last a few years, some last as long as 6 years before they need changing!

Best of all, the advanced alarm panel notifies you when batteries in individual sensors need changing, meaning your security system will never lapse.
