Getting Started

You can automate and control your lights, security system, security cameras, heating and cooling systems, and other appliances from a single remote control, or through your computer. You can even control your system through voice commands. But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

To build a home automation system you're going to need a good foundation. That's why we've created a range of DIY home automation starter kits. Simplicity here is the key: every kit is plug and play, and each allows you to start a home automation system that you can expand any time you like.

What is X10?

X10 is the basis of all home and DIY home automation systems.

How does it work?

Most X10 devices and plug-and-play, and every one of them gets its own unique address. You can then automate, or remotely control, your X10 devices and in turn the lights, windows, systems or appliances that they control.

Future Proof

We're often asked about what comes after X10, and that's understandable: if you invest time and money into a home automation you don't want it to suddenly become obsolete. Thankfully that won't be the case with X10. That's because X10 is the international and open industry standard for home automation. That means that all the home automation technologies in development, including A10 and Insteon, are not only built upon X10 but are X10 compatible meaning that your system will work well into the future and will work with any of the future X10 compatible home automation technologies.
