8 x High-Current Output Relay Module
Used in conjunction with the Ocelot or Leopard Interfaces, the RLY8XA module allows 8 high voltage outputs to be added to the systemCategory: Adicon Series
Control by Leopard or Ocelot
The RLY8XA is connected to the Ocelot or Leopard via 2-core wire. The unit then becomes a unique "module" on the ADICON network. For programming examples, please download the manual.
Control by X10
The RLY8XA does not require any software or programming when used as a stand-alone X10 device. The RLY8XA will occupy one House Code, set by adjusting internal switches. The status LED will blink to indicate the selected House Code. (0 blinks for A..15 blinks for P).
Each relay will correspond to an X10 Unit Code, responding to the following commands:
- ON
- OFF
- DIM (for 2 second relay pulse)
- Bright (for 4 second relay pulse)
Example: The jumpers are set to establish the X10 address to A. Use any X10 controller and send an A1 ON command and Relay 1 will turn ON. You issue an A2 ON command and Relay 2 will turn ON. When an A3 DIM command is sent, Relay 3 will turn ON for 2 seconds, then turn OFF.
Additionally, the RLY8XA has an internal watchdog option. The factory default is DISABLED. The watchdog can be set to DISABLED, 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. The watchdog timer is set by pressing a button inside the unit. An LED flashes to indicate the watchdog setting. The watchdog setting is the maximum time the relay will stay on for, great when used for sprinkler systems as a fail-safe against leaving the sprinklers on (just in case the off command doesn't get through).
