Many homes today have been pre-wired with coaxial cables to distribute the Audio/Video signal. But you still need to send IR control codes.

The POWERMID™ infrared remote control extender allows you to use existing remote controls to operate TV, VCR, Stereo, CD player, DVD or satellite systems from anywhere in the home. No installation is required as the units simply plug in to any AC outlet. POWERMID™ works with any infrared controller including fast format code. The POWERMID™ system consists of a transmitter unit and a receiver unit.

The NEW POWERMID™ XL now features a receiver with rechargeable batteries (not included). Battery operation is possible up to 5000 hrs.

The POWERMID™ transmitter receives infrared pulses from remote control units and re-transmits them as RF pulses at 433.92 Mhz. These transmissions are detected by the POWERMID™ receiver which converts them back into infrared signals and sends them to your audio and video equipment. No attempt is made to decode or convert infrared signals from their original format. This allows Powermid to work with almost any remote control unit and TV/video/Hi-Fi combination.
