X10 Universal Transmitter Module
The Smart Interface is a universal transmitter which can interface with many devices through 2 screw terminals. The SM10 is great for interfacing your 3rd party alarm systems with your X10 home control system. It also has the ability to send repeating all lights on/all lights off signals, meaning that when connected to your alarm, your home's lights can flash when your alarm sounds to provide another deterrent to intruders.
Here’s some of the things that the Smart Interface Module can be used for:
- Alert you that there’s someone at the door when your out of hearing range of your door bell
- Turn on lights and audio systems when you enter a door
- Let you know when an outside or garage door is left open
- Flash X10 controlled lights when your alarm system is activated.
How it works:
The Smart Interface Module sends an X10 signal to home control receiver modules when a contact closure or a low voltage is applied to its terminals. Then, depending on how it has been configured, the SM10 sends an On/Off signal, an All Lights On signal or a flashing All Lights On/All Off signal
