As a Z-Wave Appliance Module this appliance controller will allow you to automate, schedule and remotely turn on and off whatever you plug into it. But with the power of Z~Series it does much more than that.
Built into the heart of this appliance controller is the Z~Series Smart Energy technology, one of the features built into Z~Series to help you save money. This appliance controller records and reports wattage energy usage in real time. It also stores and records kWh energy usage over a period of time. This data is reported back to Z~Series controllers, such as the Z~Series Home Control Server, allowing you to find out which devices are using too much electricity and automatically, or remotely, turn them off when not in use.

How We Use It
Z~Series isn't just for the home, it's also for the office. And because we believe in it, we use it ourselves; both in our homes and in our offices.
In SmartHome.com.au's office we use the Z~Series Appliance Controller for two things: to save money, and to get the office ready for a day's work.
To save money we've scheduled the Z~Series Control Server to turn off particular appliance controllers each night. These appliance controllers are plugged into those devices which consume electricity, such as the coffee machine and computer monitors, but simply aren't needed at night.
Each morning the control server is also scheduled to turn on particular devices from the foyer lights to computers. When we get into work the office is ready for us. Except for the weekend. Because no one should work that hard.
In our homes it's much the same concept. Every night particular areas of the home, such as our home theatres, are completely turned off. And they remain off until we're back home.
