Q: Can I connect the sender directly to my Tv ( I do not have a set box)
I mean From Tv to Tv

A: Sorry to say no - as the HDMI on a TV is an input - not an output. You could use a digital settop box and send the signal to another TV

Q: I recently had to replace my Foxtel IQ3 box (the old one died), but now the bluetooth remote won't work from the next room where the TV is. It worked just fine with the old IQ3 box.

Any suggestions??

A: Just to confirm, the Bluetooth remote is not compatible with this product - we need a standard Foxtel remote. If you already have this, it could just mean you need to adjust the position of the IR blaster cable on the front of the Foxtel box.

Q: Foxtel IQ3 - need to transmit 15 meters through 4 brick walls to the bedroom.
I really need to know if the brick walls will cause difficulty.
Your assistance here would be appreciated.

A: I do not believe this product will work over this distances with so many brick walls to pass through.

Q: What adaptor do I need to run my av sender unit on iq4 my current one works well on iq2 not enough connection points on iq4 unit

A: The Transmitter includes an HDMI "Passthrough", so you will not require any further equipment. You will only need one HDMI connection from your IQ4 - this will connect to the Transmitter "HDMI IN" - we then take an HDMI connection from the Transmitter "HDMI OUT" to your main TV.

Q: I purchased this product recently and cannot believe the quality of the picture in the bedroom and there is no interference at all from any other appliances etc! Very pleased! I only have one problem. When I first turn the bedroom TV on I have no picture at all. I've left it for some minutes hoping it will kick in but it doesn't. However if I pull the power plug on the receiver for a few seconds and then reconnect, the picture comes in no problems. Any suggestions?

A: It could be that your first TV has made the "link" to your HDMI device - it would be worth powering off the connected HDMI device (I assume a Foxtel box), both TVs and both the Actiontec Transmitter and Receiver. then power on your Foxtel box, both the Transmitter and Receiver - then only power on the TV that is having the issue - hopefully this will create an HDMI link and fix the issue. Let us know if this has not helped.

Q: Hi,
I have a Foxtel IQ4 box which uses a bluetooth remote. Will this bluetooth remote work in the room with the second TV and the receiver?

A: No, you will need an older IR Foxtel remote for the second room - the bluetooth will not bass through the HDMI AV Sender.

Q: Hi
I have a new Actiontec HDMI WirelessTv and it works fine except for one thing. When I turn the TV on to Foxtel in the morning the TV signal is scrambled in that it goes black, turns off, comes back grey, then the picture is clear, then it goes through the process again. Eventually it comes good and stays good. It happens each time I turn it on and is frustrating. Wat causes this and how can I fix it. Surely it doesn’t happen to everyone. I have iq2.

A: This sounds familiar - we have had other customers report similar issues - this has to do with HDCP content protection - it can take a little while for the HDMI Sender to negotiate the content protection. Interestingly it does not happen with every setup (in fact, in the minority), this really depends on the different combination of make/model of the connected TVs.

Q: Since this uses HDMI just like my computer monitor, can I plug the transmitter into my computer and the receiver in my TV to have my TV work as an additional monitor for my computer? I would be able to move my program windows onto the TV screen just like I have another computer screen right? And I should be able to move my cursor back to my main computer screen without changing what is showing on the TV because the TV is simply just another computer screen. Am I understanding this right? So if I move a video player onto my TV screen and play a movie, then move my cursor back to my main computer screen and work on an excel spreadsheet, whoever is looking at the TV can watch the movie while I work, isn't that right?

A: What you describe should work - provided we are dealing with HDMI in/out connections.

Q: If I want to watch what’s on my computer while in the bathroom, can I just get a computer monitor (with a HDMI port and built-in speakers) and put that in the bathroom with a receiver? Or do I need to get an actual TV for the bathroom?

A: Anything with an HDMI port will work.

Q: Hi.
Looking around, there appears to be different versions of mywirelesstv available (v1, v2 and v3). What is the difference and is this the only one that allows the matrix type solution with multiple transmitters and receivers?

A: In Australia, we only have access to this model - I am sorry to say I do not know the differences between our model and the models being offered overseas.

Q: I have just fitted an outside TV and want to stream FOXTEL from my theatre room. I have the IQ2 which is connected by two cable to a wall socket and then to the mounted dish on the roof and through an amplifier. The distance is about 10 meters through a wall from AV to RV. I assume to get this working I would need to connect the FOXTEL to the AV by HDMI in and then HDMI out to the amp. At the TV its just a case of HDMI in. Am I correct in this assessment and will it work ok from the description. Also I have been informed that operating on the 5GHZ frequency makes it liable to interference from mobile phones.

A: Hi Adz, unfortunately there is no way of knowing for sure if it will work over this distance vs obstacles. From what you describe I believe it will work - however we will not know until trying - we do offer a money back guarantee - all we ask is you keep the product and packaging in good condition. The connections you describe are correct - mobile phones will not interfere with the signal.

Yes, you can certainly have 2 Receivers connected to a singleTransmitter. Extra Receivers are $229 each. They can be found at bottom of the product page under "Accessories". I hope this helps :)

Q: Hi I am interested in this.
But concerned as I previously had one that used radio and was poor quality with lots of interference.
How does this transfer the data? Via radio or inbuilt wifi or home wifi modem?
And will it interfere with my home wifi running on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
Thanks,
Natan.

A: Hi Natan,

This devices communicates digitally on the 5GHx wireless frequency - however it does not join your WiFi network - nor will it interfere with your WiFi. As the signal is digital, you will not get any of the issues you experienced with the older analogue models. I hope this help :)

Q: I'll be using the MyWirelessTV HDMI AV Sender in the bedroom between a Foxtel IQ3 and the TV. The distance will be around 3m max (could be less), but need to check if it needs to be line of sight or not? I'm intending to wall mount the TV and my preference is to have the receiver behind the TV, and the transmitter on the floor (under the bed!). Unfortunately we can't (at a reasonable price) run an HDMI cable between the IQ3 and TV.
Thanks

A: Hi Mike, From what you describe, the Actiontec HDMI Sender will do the job nicely. It is designed primarily to work over distances between rooms - so it will handle your setup without issue. I hope this helps :)

Q: I am looking for a product that is able to stream movies from my laptop to the TV for my wife to watch them while I still can play games on that same laptop at the same time as well. Can this one possibly do that? And basically how much refresh rate I can get for this item?

A: Unfortuantly what you describe is not possible with this product. If your laptop has an HDMI output, you can only send what is being displayed on the screen to another HDMI device (TV).

From Marcel Hilmer on 02/08/2016

Q: Hi, I have a Sony amp with Foxtel IQ2, Fetch and Apple TV connected to it via 3 HDMI ports and a HDMI out to an Ultra HD Sony TV. Can a single Sender be configured to work with all three devices? Further, in another room, I have a projector connected to a Denon amp via HDMI and then to a projection screen. Do I attach the Receiver to the projector or the amp? With thanks.

A: In theory, you should be able to take the output form the amp and pass it through the Actiontec Transmitter - provied your amp outputs audio via HDMI (some don't, so worth checking). I would suggest attaching the Receiver into the amp (not the projector). I hope this helps.

Q: The refresh rate varies each time the tv is turned on with the unit plugged in. This is particularly noticeable during sport. What can be done to optimise this?

A: Using the included silver remote control, please point it at the Receiver unit to access the system settings. Change the "Latency Mode" setting to "Gaming". This should significantly improve the refresh rate. I hope this helps.

Q: Can I run two tv screens at once without any loss of picture quality

A: Absolutely you can - up to 3 Receivers can be connected to one Transmitter... so in total, you could actually watch Foxtel on 4 TVs - You can only watch the same channel that is being displayed from your Foxtel box on the main and additional TVs. I hope this helps.

Q: Is it possible to mount the receiver behind the tv such that it is out of site?

A: Yes, both the Transmitter and Receiver units can be wall mounted via the keyhole mounts on the bottom of each unit. The height of each unit is less than 40mm (4cm), so you would need to have at least this amount of clearance behind your TV. I hope this helps.
