Questions about Aeotec Z-Wave Smart Switch 6
<< Back to the product pageQ: Can you use this with an electric heater?
I'm looking at building a smart thermostat to turn on/off my electric heaters. But because of the limited space where the heaters are plugged in (they hang on the wall and are plugged in behind), I may also have to use with a small power board. Unless there is something thinner available?
Thanks.
A: Yes, this will work with any 10A rated product (including heaters).

Q: Can you use this product with televisions? I read on another website that it should not be used by high powered appliance such as washes/dryers so am wondering how TVs fit in. Thanks.
A: Hi Luke, the Aeotec SmartSwitch 6 is perfect for TVs and AV gear - in fact, if you plug a power board into the module, it is a great way to turn off all your AV gear at the same time to save on standby power usage. Washes, dryers and fridges can present problems - sot so much from the power drawn - rather that the motors in these appliances can cause sudden spike when switching on. I hope this helps :)
