Q: can i use with my wink hub 2? because there is no option for configuration setting in wink hub 2 to add IR codes for AC brands.

A: I do not believe the Wink Hub 2 is available in Australia, therefor this product will not as it is with Australian Z-Wave frequency.

Q: I have a 8 zone Daikin split, is this compatible

A: If your system can be controlled via infra-red remote, then this will work. You would need one for each zone.

Q: Is the usb a mini or micro?

Do you have right angle up/down usb cables to suit? (So cable goes straight into ceiling from the unit)

A: This device uses a standard Mini USB connector. The included cable is not "right-angle" - however you are free to source and use any mini USB cable as required for your setup.

Q: I have a US version Samsung SmartThings hub ( in AUS) will this be compatible??

A: Hi Daniel,

No, this will not be compatible. The Z-Wave wireless frequency in the USA is different to here in Australia.

Q: Can the IR Controller be used to send commands to TV, STB Etc

A: Not really, as there are very limited remote control slots for commands. It is far better suited to split-system air-conditioners. We recommend you take a look at Global Cache range of IR products - http://www.smarthome.com.au/catalogsearch/advanced/result/?name=&manufacturer=149

Q: I have 4 split wall ac units that can only be controlled by IR.
Should I get one of these units for all rooms or is there another way to link and control these ac units?

A: Hi Tyler,

You would need require one of these units for each room. This is certainly the best option for control of IR ac units.
