Adding Zigbee Smart Label Switch to Home Assistant

To fully utilise the Zigbee Smart Label switches & dimmers in Home Assistant, a few files need to be added. To do this you will need the ‘File Editor’ App installed.

Step 1 – Create a folder under the main homeassistant root folder called zha_quirks.

Step 2 – Download the following files (and extract them from then zip file) then upload to this folder.
ZMD-208.py.zip – this is for the Dimmers
ZMS-208.py.zip – this is for the Switches

Step 3 – Open the file configuration.yaml and add the following

zha:
enable_quirks: true
custom_quirks_path: /config/zha_quirks

Next – Adding the NameHook module, this keeps the LCD screens on the modules in sync with the name of the Device in Home Assistant.

Step 4 – Download the NameHook component from here.

Step 5 – Extract the zip file.

Step 6 – Upload the entire zha_namehook folder to the existing custom_components folder.

Save the changes, then Restart Home Assistant. This adds the required Zigbee drivers to support the Switch/Dimmer modules and the LCD screens.

Now you can add the switches/dimmers via the Zigbee integration. When you edit the name of a channel, this should now automatically be updated on the actual switch LCD screen.
