How to factory reset Home Assistant Green
This guide explains how to factory reset Home Assistant Green.
A factory reset will completely wipe your Home Assistant Green and restore it to a fresh, out-of-the-box state. This removes all add-ons, integrations, users and settings.
Please be sure to backup before factory resetting if you wish to restore your current data on the new installation.

Method 1: Factory reset via the Reset Button

Power off your Home Assistant Green
Unplug the the power cable
Press and hold the Reset Button
Hold down the Reset Button located on the back of the device
While holding the Reset Button down, plug the power cable back in
Keep holding the Reset Button until the LED lights up solid yellow
Release the Reset Button
Important notes:
- After successfully initiating the reset process, Home Assistant OS will be re-installed automatically
- The LEDs start blinking
- The Home Assistant Operating System now downloads the latest version of Home Assistant Supervisor and Home Assistant Core
- Due to these downloads, it can take a while until Home Assistant becomes accessible again
