Product Questions & Answers
- How does this hub integrate into Home Assistant for the ZWave component? Is it a USB connection into the device running Home Assistant so it appears as a USB device (similar to USB Zwave stick controllers?). What is the Zwave chipset in the hub (500, 700 or 800?)

It is not a good substitute for USB stick controllers. The SmartThings hub includes Z-Wave 700 series chipset. Just wanted to check can I natively connect phillips phillips hue devices to this hub and get rid of my Hue bridge? It reads like that in some reviews I have seen for UK model, but wanted to confirm the AU model is the same? I will be getting rid of a vera plus at the same time to rationalise. I also use Home Assistant to integrate everything so would need to integrate there without the Hue bridge... Read more

Yes - the AU hub is identical to the UK model (other than carrying the AU version of the Z-Wave chip) - you can certainly pair your Zigbee Hue lights directly to the Hub.
Could I use this as a direct replacement of my Vera which I find lags quite a bit? I mainly use z-wave products including the aeotec switches and plugs? - Q Could I use this as a direct replacement of my Vera which I find lags quite a bit? I mainly use z...... Read moreA
Yes, the Aeotec Smart Home Hub (SmartThings) would be a significant step up over the discontinued Vera hub. All of your Z-Wave devices will work without issue and you will also have the option to add Zigbee devices in the future. The SmartThings app is very clean and easy to use (again, a huge improvement over the Vera app). I hope this helps.
What is the Z-wave frequency of this product? - Q What is the Z-wave frequency of this product?A It is the Australian Z-Wave frequency of 921MHz. Hi, I’m looking to connect this to my Harmony Hub, but want to map LIFX light commands as an Entertainment Device to just the Light Buttons on my Elite Remote, rather than Home Control which which also force maps the +/- button which is already programmed as a master volume for my Amp across all activities. Do you know if this is possible? Thanks Dave

I think this is a question better asked in the SmartThings community forum. Hi Team, does this hub work with the previous hub? meaning would this new Aeotec hub add to the WiFi mesh and work with Plume? Specifically If you already own the Samsung Wifi V3 hub. Thanks!
