A Shelly Bypass is usually required for both the Shelly 1L and Shelly Dimmer 2 where there is no neutral wire at the wall switch and the power consumption of the attached load is less than 20 watts. In some cases, the Shelly Dimmer 2 may also need this Bypass to stop LED lights “flickering” at low dimming levels for LED lighting with a combined wattage of less then 50W.

    Thanks you for your response. Do you have the certification link for the Shelly Bypass unit? I am able to find the certificates for the 1l and dimmer. When speaking with Shelly Europe they advised this product is not yet certified in Australia. This is where I am getting mixed answers.

    I am sorry to say I do not have that certificate (we are not the Australian importer).  However, my understanding is this is not a "prescribed" electrical device and is only ment to be installed by professionals (electricians), therefor it does not require SAA approval - rather the European approvals can be used.
    2. Can I confirm these are certified for use in Australia? I am getting mixed answers from Shelly direct to various suppliers. I cant seem to see the certification on SAA or Global-Mark where all the other Shelly certificates are. Any concrete answer here would be helpful.
