How to find the IP address of a Shelly Wi-Fi device
Knowing the IP address of your Shelly device is useful for many reasons, including troubleshooting, adding to Home Assistant, accessing the local web interface, setting a static IP address and more.
This guide covers common ways to find a Shelly device’s IP address, including from the Shelly app and your Wi-Fi router.
Method 1: Find the IP address using the Shelly app
This is the quickest method for most users. However, it assumes you have added your Shelly device to the Shelly Cloud app – please see other methods below if this is not the case.
-
-
Open the Shelly Smart Control app
-
Select your Shelly device
-
Tap Settings
-
Go to Device Information
-
Look for Device IP
-
Method 2: Find the IP address via your Wi-Fi router
This method works even if the Shelly app can’t connect to your Shelly device – provided it is of course on your Wi-Fi network.
-
-
Log in to your Wi-Fi router admin page
-
Open Connected Devices, DHCP Clients or LAN Devices (or similar – we are looking for a page that lists all of your connected devices)
-
Look for your Shelly device name – basically any device listed with the word “shelly” included in the name- i.e.:
-
shelly…
-
shelly1pm…
-
shellyi4…
-
shellydimmer…
-
-
Note the assigned IP address
