How to find the IP address of a Shelly Wi-Fi device

Knowing the IP address of your Shelly device is useful for many reasons, including troubleshooting, adding to Home Assistant, accessing the local web interface, setting a static IP address and more.

This guide covers common ways to find a Shelly device’s IP address, including from the Shelly app and your Wi-Fi router.

Method 1: Find the IP address using the Shelly app

This is the quickest method for most users. However, it assumes you have added your Shelly device to the Shelly Cloud app – please see other methods below if this is not the case.

    1. Open the Shelly Smart Control app

    2. Select your Shelly device

    3. Tap Settings

    4. Go to Device Information

    5. Look for Device IP

Method 2: Find the IP address via your Wi-Fi router

This method works even if the Shelly app can’t connect to your Shelly device – provided it is of course on your Wi-Fi network.

    1. Log in to your Wi-Fi router admin page

    2. Open Connected Devices, DHCP Clients or LAN Devices (or similar – we are looking for a page that lists all of your connected devices)

    3. Look for your Shelly device name – basically any device listed with the word “shelly” included in the name- i.e.:

      • shelly…

      • shelly1pm…

      • shellyi4…

      • shellydimmer…

    4. Note the assigned IP address
